Melissa & Peter’s HINTERLAND Wedding

How you first met? In 2013, we both went on a group tour through Europe – the Winter Spirit tour with Topdeck Travel. Melissa went with a friend and Pete was by himself. Our trip started in London and we met on the first leg at the ferry terminal in Dover. We spent the next few days slowly getting to know each other and started to hang out more throughout the trip. We met up again once we were both back in Brisbane and, as they say, the rest is history.
When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did ?. etc.
Melissa – I thought Pete was someone special from the beginning. I was never afraid of our future together or making plans with him. It never occurred to me that we would not be together forever. I had never felt like that before and it was different and exciting and I surprised myself. // Pete – There are many little things that make Melissa an amazing woman, including but not limited to faithful, high moral standards, funny, love of travel, good with money, thoughtful and friendly family.
Tell me about the proposal. Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? , how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out ? Pete proposed to Melissa at the summit of Mount Warning on the 28th February 2016.We had picked out the ring together beforehand and then it was a matter of when and how. Melissa had no idea when it would happen or how it would happen, and Pete managed to surprise her. Pete had been throwing Melissa off for weeks, dropping jokes and hints about the idea. We got up early in the morning and made the drive down to the mountain to begin the trek. Melissa is not the biggest fan of heights, so it was a challenge to get her to the top. Pete was nervous, worried about Melissa saying “no”. But, of course, she said yes and now here we are.
One thing you love most about each other We both love to travel and cannot wait to explore more of the world together. We also share a love of Italian food.
Besides getting married — what was the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day ? Melissa – seeing Pete at the end of the aisle.
