Where about the proposal. Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? , how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out? I (bride) had no idea! Funny story actually… so I expected Daniel to propose sometime soon as he was asking me about rings, what stones I liked, my sizing, etc.

I had no idea he was custom designing me a ring in the background. On the night of October 14th, 2016, Daniel had asked me to keep the night free so we could go on a double date with his best friend and his girlfriend to the movies. Little did I know, it was actually a proposal in disguise!

However, that afternoon I was taken to the emergency department with chest pains – it ended up being nothing serious, but I was hooked up to all sorts of machines for about 3 hours and didn’t come out till it was dark out. I had been constantly texting Daniel to let him know I was still in there, and when I was finally allowed to leave, he told he was waiting outside to pick me up. As I walked out of the emergency department, I was greeted by Daniel on one knee (in a suit), and some of our closest family and friends standing behind him.

He told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him… I was extremely taken aback, but of course, I said yes!! Turns out he had been planning this for the past month, and he had arranged with the cinema (where we had our first date) to decorate part of the space with lights and music for the proposal – of course, with me being stuck in hospital for 3 hours, he decided to move everything to the hospital. Apparently, people passing by thought he was stood up!!

One thing you love most about each other I like that Daniel isn’t afraid to act silly – he’s more outgoing than me and isn’t afraid to do or say things that I wouldn’t do. Daniel loves that I support him with his work, particularly because he is often leaving early and is out till late, but I always have dinner on the table ready for him.

Besides getting married — what was the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day? I think being able to celebrate with friends and family will be great. I’m excited for a night of good food, dancing and plenty of fun!

What’s your favorite trend for weddings right now? I like that weddings can be really modern now – that we don’t need to get married in a church, and instead, it can be somewhere beautiful like a garden setting in Parkwood.

What inspired your decor or themes? My love for pinks and gold! Daniel didn’t get too much of a say in the color scheme, unfortunately!
