JEMMA & CHRIS – VICTORIA PARK BRISBANE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
This Brisbane wedding was simply stunning, featuring incredible florals in an all-white colour palette.
Victoria Park is one of my favourite Brisbane Wedding venues, especially when you have both your ceremony and reception on site. Not having to travel is an absolute dream and they were last year awarded Most Romantic Wedding Venue, 2018 Lux Global Wedding Excellence Awards.
Tell me how you first met? We met in preschool and went to school together up until Grade 5 then I (Jemma) moved to a different school. We then became friends on facebook and start talking. We started talking again when we were about 15 but I wasn’t allowed to date until I was 17 so Chris waited for me for about 2 years and then we began dating. We developed a really great friendship during the time of waiting and has really helped our relationship as being best friends.
When did you know he/she was the one? We both just knew from early on that we wanted to be together forever. Ever since being together from a young age in school we just knew.
Tell me about the proposal. Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? , how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out? We were celebrating our three year anniversary and Chris took me out on a hot air balloon ride and a jet boat ride in the morning. He then took me to dinner in Southbank where we had our very first date. We then went for a walk over to the QUT gardens with the fairy lights. He sat me down then I saw my cousin come out playing the guitar singing a song and then my other cousin was recording and taking photos. Chris then starting crying and got on one knee. I was not expecting it at all as we talked about this for later in the year. I was so excited when he proposed and it was great to have all my family there to celebrate once we got home.
Tell me one thing you love most about each other One thing we love most about each other is that we are each other’s best friends. We always have each other and can depend on one another.
Besides getting married — what was the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day? Celebrating with our beautiful families and seeing all our hard work come together.
What’s your favourite trend for weddings right now? Traditional weddings with lots of glamour and modern elements.
What inspired your decor or themes? We are going for a very traditional/classic theme but also with modern elements and glam. I love elegance and everything grand so that’s what has inspired us. We have put a lot of detail into the decor so really looking forward to seeing it come together.
